This is one of the most famous phrases from the musical “Cabaret” inviting you to Berlin at the beginning of the 20th century.
In my role as convenor of the ISFRI 2019, I am pleased to address these words to you at the beginning of the 21st century. I am cordially inviting you to the combined 8th annual meeting of the International Society of Forensic Radiology and Imaging and the 14th annual meeting of the International Association of Forensic Radiographers in Berlin, Germany from May 16th – 18th 2019.
The ISFRI 2019 will be hosted by the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of the Charité. The Charité has a history of more than three centuries of medical education and research in all fields of medical sciences. Names like Rudolf Virchow, Robert Koch, Fritz Straßmann, Gustav Bucky and many others who have worked at the Charité are well known in the fields of forensic pathology and radiology all over the world. Open minded scientists that made benchmarks in their fields by implementing new methods. A perfect place for a combined meeting of ISFRI and IAFR.
Since many years now PM-CT has been integrated in the post-mortem medico-legal investigation in Berlin in daily cases as well as in DVI missions.
The scientific focus of the meeting will be on the use of imaging techniques in DVI and road traffic accident documentations. Beside these topic submissions, all field of forensic imaging are also welcomed, especially case reports.
Berlin as the capital of Germany, is one of the most pulsating cities in the center of Europe. A visit to Berlin with its history of separation and reunion brings you to one of the most interesting cultural places in Europe. Berlin is serviced by two international airports and an extended public transportation system.
The venue for this Congress will be held at the Ellington Hotel, located in the “City West” of Berlin.
In addition to the scientific program there will also be social and entertainment programs to be organized.

The 2019 combined meeting of the International Society of Forensic Radiology and Imaging with the International Association of Forensic Radiographers – the ISFRI 2019 – will be held in Berlin, Germany. The history of the implementation of radiology into medico-legal services in Berlin goes back to the early years of the last century. Besides highlighting road traffic accidents and identification / documentation in mass disasters and terrorist attacks, there will be also a focus on a variety of case reports in the scientific program.
